As pinturas de Bruno Lyfe nos apresentam enredos visuais por contornos políticos e simbólicos, na afirmação dos pactos e alianças com a rua e consequentemente, reverbera os traquejos da linguagem e dos códigos do graffiti em suas produções recentes. A experimentação em novas matrizes, suportes e intencionalidades desvelam novos sentidos, interpretações e a ampliação das relações do artista com o subúrbio carioca e suas manifestações. Os trânsitos na cidade, as passagens pelas escolas de artes e a prática de viver a rua foram fundamentais para seus estudos, que encontrou nos signos, símbolos e nos aspectos urbanos a possibilidade de pensar esteticamente sua construção poética e as novas materialidades.

Nas andanças pelo bairro de Ramos, Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, lugar berço e de pesquisa de Bruno, é onde revelam-se os atravessamentos das referências que vão espelhando os assuntos, os interesses, os costumes, as arquiteturas das casas com seus ornamentos, as pequenas vendas e seus anúncios. O artista se coloca a ler e traduzir pelas telas a identidade visceral de um lugar que tem a rua como espaço de vivência e partilha, entre as muitas superfícies e histórias que se misturam.

As paisagens, aqui, se desenham junto à vida, organizadas pelas coisas no tempo, nas suspensões das palavras suscitadas entre silhuetas e perspectivas. E assim, nos permite abrir janelas, deixando os olhos nus diante das belezas e complexidades cotidianas entrelaçadas às dinâmicas da cidade, a refletir as relações humanas, as desigualdades e acessos, as inquietações, as presenças, os animais na rua, e sobretudo, dá a ver as dádivas e encantamentos em forma, traço e cor.

Para reivindicar as essências e as naturezas desse lugar que lhe dá chão e horizonte, Lyfe, vai nos lembrar, e nos dar indícios dos pontos de partida para o mundo: as casas, que são espaços de pertencimento que formam as vizinhanças, as sociabilidades e os encontros, nos colocando nas travessias das memórias, subjetividades e dos desejos. As narrativas visuais do artista deliram e testemunham a liberdade, o direito ao lazer, o calor das trocas e dos banhos de piscina, no sonho de empreender ou mesmo na simplicidade de balbuciar crônicas do dia a dia nas portas das casas, nas mesas de bar.

As conversas com as pinturas, nos mobilizam para as encruzilhadas, para as descobertas de novas possibilidades de imaginação e fabulação de narrativas à contrapelo dos fetiches e estereótipos adensados historicamente nesses territórios. A exposição, contudo, tem o compromisso ético de realçar a pluralidade de estar vivo, à luz das reversões óticas, na elaboração e sedimentação de outros postais que descortinam um subúrbio negro e feliz. Bruno Lyfe’s paintings show us visual storylines through political and symbolic contourns, on the statement of pacts and dealings with the street and, consequently, it reflects the language practice and the graffiti codes practice, on his recent productions. The experimentation in new matrices, supports and intentions reveals new meanings, comprehensions and the enlargement of the artist’s relations with the suburb of Rio de Janeiro and its manifestations. The transits in the city, the passages through art schools and the practice of living the street were fundamental for the artist’s studies, in which signs, symbols and urban aspects he has found the possibility of thinking aesthetically the poetic construction and new materialities.
Through Ramos neighborhood, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro and Bruno’s birthplace and research location, it is revealed the reference’s influence which will reflect the subjects, interests, habits, the houses’ architectures and their ornaments, the small business and its advertisements. The artist reads and translates through the paintings the visceral identity of a place that has the street as a space of living and sharing among many surfaces and stories to the ones it blends with.
The landscapes, here, are drawn together to life. They are organized by the things throughout the time on the suspension of words that originated between silhouettes and perspectives. And so, it allows us to open the windows, letting our eyes uncovered faced the ordinary beauties and complexities that are together to the dynamics of the city, reflecting about humans relations, inequalities and accesses, excitement, presences, the animals on the street and, most of all, it shows us the gifts and enchantments on form, trace and color.
In order to revindicate the essences the and nature of this place that brings him base and horizon, Lyfe will remind and give us indices of the bottom line to the world: the homes which are belonging spaces that shape the neighborhood, the relations and the meetings, putting us on the crossing of memórias, subjectivities and desires.
The artist’s visual narratives rave on and testify freedom, the leisure right, the relations heat and baths taken in the swimming pool, inside the dream of a self business or even in the simplicity of sharing chronics around a table on the bar.
The talkings to the paintings take us to the crossroads, to the discoverings of new possibilities of imagination and narratives instead of fetishes and stereotypes historically inserted in these territories. The exhibition, however, has the ethical commitment of highlighting the plurality of being alive, under the optical reversions, on elaboration of other postals that show a black and happy suburb. A porous, workful, resilient, welcoming suburb that has a lot of faith.
